The Rawson Wind Farm, developed by the company Genneia, a member of the company group presided by businessman Jorge Brito, generated over one million MWh of clean energy since its start up and launching of its commercial operations, in January 2012, thus breaking the clean energy record.
According to a press release, due to the intense winds recorded last month in the northwestern area of Chubut, on June 25, the Renewable Energy Project (REP) exceeded 1 Terawatt-hour of historical accumulated generation.
This energy, fully produced from wind, resulted in a cost saving of US$ 250,000,000 in fuel imports and a reduction of 680,000 tons of C02 emissions into the atmosphere.
“As to the 2015 yield, the REP delivered 141,500 MWh of renewable energy into the national interconnected system, becoming its best semester ever. And if the wind and generation forecasts are met for the rest of the year, the Genneia Wind Farm will be generating 290,000 MWh of wind energy, equivalent to a Net Capacity Factor of 44%, an indicator involving a two-fold increase compared to the world average. With such figures, approximately 100,000 households in Argentina are using renewable energy produced from our wind farm”, explains the press release.
